EGO Technology is officially opening its new WEEE processing facility in Bradford, representing a significant investment in the Group’s UK operations and its ability to manage redundant technology at scale.
The facility will be officially opened on 25 September 2026 by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Sir Chris Herd, with customers, partners and members of the EGO team joining us to mark the occasion.
For EGO, however, Bradford is about much more than additional space. It strengthens what we can do in-house and creates the infrastructure needed to support the next stage of the business.
Expanding our processing capabilities
As the volume and complexity of redundant technology increases, organisations need more from their ITAD and WEEE partners than collection and recycling.
Equipment needs to be securely managed, accurately tracked and assessed to determine the most appropriate outcome.
The Bradford facility expands EGO’s ability to handle this work at scale, providing dedicated infrastructure for WEEE processing, dismantling, segregation and material recovery.
It means we can take larger and more complex volumes of equipment through a structured process while identifying opportunities to retain value wherever possible.
One operation, different specialist capabilities
Bradford forms part of EGO Technology’s wider operational infrastructure alongside our Technology Recovery Centre in Burton upon Trent.
The two facilities perform different but complementary roles.
Burton supports secure technology intake, asset management and reuse-first assessment, while Bradford provides additional specialist capability for WEEE processing and material recovery.
Together, they allow us to determine the right route for equipment depending on its condition, security requirements and remaining value.
A device capable of another useful life should be treated differently from one that has reached the end of its usable life. And an asset that cannot be reused as a whole may still contain components and materials worth recovering.
Having those capabilities within one Group allows those decisions to form part of a joined-up process.
Looking beyond recycling
The development of Bradford also reflects how EGO believes redundant technology should be managed.
Recycling has an important role, but it shouldn’t automatically be the first destination for every piece of equipment.
Where possible, the priority is to keep technology in use.
Where whole-device reuse is no longer viable, the focus moves to components and materials before responsible recycling becomes the final route.
That approach helps preserve more of the value already embedded in technology and supports the wider transition towards a more circular use of resources.
Bradford gives us greater capability at the recovery end of that process.
What does Bradford mean for our customers?
For customers, the investment is ultimately about providing a stronger ITAD and WEEE service.
Enterprise IT refreshes, office closures, infrastructure upgrades and multi-site programmes can generate significant quantities of equipment in a relatively short period of time.
Being able to manage those volumes through specialist facilities gives EGO the infrastructure to support larger and more complex projects without losing sight of individual asset outcomes.
It also creates a clearer connection between collection, processing and reporting.
Customers increasingly want to know more than whether their equipment has been disposed of compliantly. They want to understand what happened to it, what was reused, what was recovered and what ultimately entered a recycling route.
That information can support internal governance as well as wider sustainability and ESG reporting.
Investing in the next stage of EGO Technology
Bradford comes at an important point in EGO Technology’s development.
The integration of the former Ucan Secure IT operation into the EGO Technology Group has brought additional experience and processing capability into the business, while continued investment in our facilities, technology and people is creating a broader proposition for customers.
Our ambition is not simply to collect more equipment.
It is to manage the technology lifecycle more intelligently — combining secure ITAD, reuse, value recovery, WEEE processing and material recovery within a more connected operation.
The Bradford facility is an important part of making that possible.

The official opening on 25 September is an opportunity to celebrate the work that has gone into developing the facility and the people behind it.
But it also marks the beginning of what comes next.
