Turning technology into opportunity for change
At Ego Technology, we see surplus technology as more than waste, it’s an opportunity to create real change.
Through responsible reuse, recycling and community-focused initiatives, we support rehabilitation, create employment pathways and help individuals build long-term, sustainable futures. At the same time, we reduce environmental impact by extending the life of technology and recovering valuable resources.
Our approach combines social impact with environmental responsibility, delivering measurable outcomes for people, communities and the planet.
Supporting communities through partnerships
We work closely with charities and community organisations connected to the regions where our centres operate.
Through equipment donations, financial contributions and client-supported initiatives, we direct support where it is needed most, helping organisations continue their vital work within local communities.
By building long-term partnerships, we aim to ensure our work delivers meaningful impact beyond our core operations.
The charities we are supporting in 2026 are as follows:
Mind Lancashire provides vital mental health support across the region, helping individuals access guidance, training and community support.
We support the charity by donating refurbished laptops through our reuse programme. These devices are provided to people supported by Lancashire Mind, helping them access training courses, online services and opportunities that support recovery and personal development.
Simon on the Streets provides frontline outreach support to people experiencing homelessness across Yorkshire.
We support the charity through financial contributions and awareness initiatives that help fund their outreach work. Their teams work directly with individuals sleeping rough, providing practical support and helping people access the services needed to rebuild stability and independence.
Staffordshire Women’s Aid supports women and children affected by domestic abuse, providing safe accommodation, specialist support and pathways to rebuild their lives.
We contribute to initiatives that help connect women with the resources and support they need, helping individuals regain independence and access essential services during extremely difficult circumstances.
 Empowering lives through digital access
Thanks to the generous donation from Ego Technology, tenants supported by Lancashire Mind's housing service have been able to improve their digital skills and access to support or employment opportunities. Corinne Ainscough, Housing & Wellbeing officer at Lancashire Mind commented, "We are very grateful to Ego Technology for the very kind donation of three laptops. We recognised several of our tenants were facing digital barriers, especially when most services are now online." Ego Technology's support has helped empower our tenants, bringing them another step closer to achieving their goals and gaining independence. "Tenants who previously struggled to engage with Therapy services are now able to access this online, helping them stay consistent and improve their mental health. Having access to a laptop has enabled education opportunities; they can apply for online courses now and develop new skills to build confidence and self-esteem.
