Multi-site ITAD Partnership for UK Manufacturing Group

Case Studies | MANUFACTURING ITAD PARTNERSHIP

Project

From a single audit to a national rollout

A large UK manufacturing group, operating across multiple sites nationwide, first approached us because of the depth and clarity of our asset reporting and ESG insight. What began as a single engagement focused on environmental accountability has since grown into a multi-site, nationwide IT asset disposal (ITAD) partnership, with further scope to expand into skip provision and wider waste services.

Challenge

The challenge

As a manufacturing business with operations spread across many UK locations, the client faced a familiar problem: a lack of visibility. Redundant IT equipment, electronic waste and end-of-life assets were accumulating across sites with no consistent reporting, no standardised collection process, and no clear environmental data to support the group’s wider sustainability commitments. Head office clearances and site-level WEEE were being handled in an ad hoc way, with little ability to demonstrate compliance or environmental impact to stakeholders.

The business needed a partner who could not only manage the physical collection and disposal of assets, but who could also provide the kind of detailed, audit-ready reporting that ESG teams and senior leadership increasingly require.

The solution

Ego Technology was initially engaged for a single site, with the relationship built around our detailed asset-level reporting and ESG insight. This reporting gave the client’s sustainability and procurement teams a level of transparency they hadn’t previously had: clear data on what was collected, how it was processed, and the environmental benefit of each collection.

Following the success of that initial engagement, Ego began carrying out ongoing  IT WEEE collections across multiple sites, including full head office clearances. As trust in the service grew, the relationship was extended further, and we are now being rolled out as the group’s national ITAD provider, standardising the process across the full UK estate.

There is also active discussion around extending the partnership into skip provision and broader waste management services, reflecting the client’s appetite to consolidate more of its waste and asset disposal needs under a single, accountable partner.
